VISA’s Adam Wand shifts to global role


After four and half years in the Asia Pacific as Vice President, Government Affairs and Public Policy, Adam Wand is shifting to VISA’s international head office in San Francisco.

Meanwhile, Penny Burtt joins VISA  as ‎Vice President Government Relations, Asia Pacific, Visa. Burtt served as Director of Public Affairs and External Relations, Asia at McKinsey&Company, based in Singapore since 2011.

Burtt is a leading member of the Asia PA industry and a former Australian diplomat. She will manage the GR function across the region.

Meanwhile in his new new global role Wand shall be establishing and leading a new company-wide function focused on building and projecting public policy positions on key strategic issues facing Visa Inc and the electronic payments sector internationally.

He shall also be building the Visa School of Public Policy as an international platform to continue our engagement with public policy makers across the world.

Adam leds Visa’s involvement in the discussion of key payments policy and regulatory issues across the diverse markets of South East Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands.

Until October 2010, he served for three years as Chief of Staff in key national economic portfolios in the Australian governments of Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and Julia Gillard, namely to the Assistant Treasurer and to the Minister for Superannuation and Corporate Law.
