FTI Consulting the global business advisory firm has announced the appointment of Nick Wood as a managing director in the company’s strategic communications segment.
In his new role, Wood will serve as a senior member of the segment’s corporate communications and public affairs practices. He will be based in Singapore.
Wood has30 years of communications experience in reputation management, government and regulatory affairs, media relations, stakeholder engagement, crisis and issues management, corporate social responsibility and sustainability programme development and execution to FTI Consulting.
He joins the firm following more than 20 years with Royal Dutch Shell where he most recently served as Vice President of Communications in the Company’s global Exploration and Production business.

Wood led communications and CSR for Royal Dutch Shell’s global Exploration and Production business, while at the same time leading approximately 200 communications professionals in cross-business teams in Asia Pacific, Africa, the Middle East, central Asia and Russia. During that time, he was closely involved in managing strategic communications for the Shell Group, including several sensitive projects and operations around the world. Before that time, he was the Communications Director for Shell in China where he managed the organisation’s reputation, public affairs, communications and CSR programmes during the development of complex multi-billion dollar projects located in challenging regulatory environments.
