Thomson Reuters, a leading global source of news and information, is joining Food Industry Asia (FIA) as a knowledge partner, and the association’s newest partner organisation.
FIA’s partners contribute to the association’s mission as a knowledge hub for its growing network of companies operating in Asia. Thomson Reuters and FIA enjoy a relationship that began in early 2016, officially kicked off with an FIA Lunch Series session that delved into mitigating risks brought about by complexities in food supply chains.
The partnership comes at a time when managing one’s supply chain is becoming increasingly difficult. Critical decisions need to be made at speed, and disruptions or negative impacts at any point of the process can significantly affect production, distribution and costs, as well as an organisation’s reputation.
“Thomson Reuters is excited to join the efforts of FIA to bring innovative ideas and capabilities to the Asian food industry and its thought leaders. Our commitment to the global food & beverage community, through our technology, trusted intelligence and analytics, supports more efficient, safe and sustainable supply chains by addressing price, supply, and supplier risk. We look forward to the mutually beneficial engagements that this partnership will allow us to participate in and lead,” said Jeff Haas, Global Head of Agriculture, Food & Beverage, Supply Chain & Commodities, at Thomson Reuters.
Matt Kovac, Executive Director at FIA, said, “We are delighted to announce our partnership with Thomson Reuters, a world-class authority on intelligence for businesses across a spectrum of sectors that include news media and risk management.”
He added, “I look forward to a collaboration that will bring about vital, pertinent thought leadership relating to the food industry in the region.”
