The public affairs and communications industry in Asia
Pacific has received the final call for nominations to the Gold Standard
Awards programme.
This year sees a number of award innovations including the
the launch of The Yahoo! Gold Standard “Internet for Good” award and a
streamlining of the communications consultancy categories.
The addition of the “internet for good award”
reflects the role that the internet can play in delivering for communities or
charitable causes. The Gold Standard Awards recognise excellence in a broad
sphere of areas including corporate citizenship, social media communications,
stakeholder relations, NGO engagement and crisis and issues management.
As nominations reach closure on September 28 (or by late
entry on October 5), awards chairman, Steve Okun, said: “I encourage you
to enter the programme to highlight the work of your company or organisation,
for what it has done overall or for a specific project. This will further showcase
real achievement across a diverse and sophisticated range of projects, showing
how public affairs and corporate communications is a key to the overarching
success of a business, government or NGO in the Asia-Pacific region.”
Previous award winners and shortlisted nominees include
BASF, the Gyeonggi Provincial Government, the Korean Purple Ribbon Campaign,
Ambassador David Huebner, Coca-Cola, The Kraft Hope Kitchen, Chevron, Syngenta,
Merck and the Government of Bhutan.
Previous senior political figures to win Gold Standard
Awards include President Aquino of the Philippines and President Susilo Bambang
Yudhoyono of Indonesia.
Commenting on the awards, Mark O’Brien, vice president,
PublicAffairsAsia, said: “The awards programme has seen over 350 entries
covering a wide range of high quality work. The industry is doing a great
deal to add value across the board with a wide range of corporate
communications work and policy engagement initiatives. We would like to
invite all those who have achieved to go public with their success and enter
this unique programme.”
