PublicAffairsAsia has hosted its first event in Australia bringing together a high-level lunch meeting of senior corporate communicators.
The Sydney roundtable, co-hosted with Dow Jones, brought together representatives from a wide range of sectors to discuss the impact of social media on corporate reputation and the work of the corporate communicator.
Among the companies present were Rio Tinto, Weber Shandwick, Woolworths and Kreab Gavin Anderson.
Mark O’Brien, vice president of PublicAffairsAsia, said: “We were delighted to be in Australia working with Dow Jones in exploring the increasingly complex terrain that faces the modern coporate communicator. The radical impact of social media on the role of corporate communications is beyond question and the meeting examined how corporations need to respond to these changes.
The event was entitled Mission Critical: Corporate Communications, Reputation and the Social Media Dimension and is one of a three part series taking place in Sydney, Singapore and Hong Kong.
A report summarising the outcome of the discussions will be published later this month.
