Australian public affairs agency Parker & Partners has appointed Vincent Sheehey as its new director of government relations.
Sheehy arrives at Parker, part of Ogilvy PR Australia, with more than 15 years’ experience of the country’s political landscape.
He was most recently chief of staff to Bruce Billson, former minister of small business.
Sheehy has also provided ministerial-level advice regarding small business, deregulation, competition policy, consumer affairs, immigration and sustainability among other areas.
He will lead Parker’s Canberra practice.
Susan Redden Makatoa, Ogilvy PR Group’s managing director for corporate, said Sheehy’s proven record in advising government is a welcome addition to the firm.
“Vincent’s background in government, network of influential contacts and knowledge of the political processes will further strengthen Parker & Partners, a recognised industry leader that works with the federal, state and territory governments, oppositions and minor parties to provide sound advice and effective campaigns.”
