Edelman has named Martin O’Reilly global chief information & technology officer.
O’Reilly, formerly global CIO of Burson-Marsteller, will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of Edelman’s IT function and oversee the global IT team. He will report to Matthew Harrington, Edelman’s global chief operating officer, and be based in the firm’s New York office.
Harrington said: “Martin is an exciting addition to our team with a strong track record of IT delivery and innovation. We look forward to his enhancing our IT offering internally and the benefits he can bring to clients externally. He’s a proven leader who will add immense value to the Edelman global network.”
Over the past two-and-a-half years at Burson, O’Reilly led the firm through its largest IT operational transformation and the development of its marketing technology platforms, analytics and strategic technology partnerships.

Prior to his role at Burson, O’Reilly served as CEO of WPP Group Technology Services, where he led an initiative to consolidate all technical infrastructure services for WPP Group. Before that he was CIO of Europe, Middle East and Africa for GroupM, the parent company of WPP’s media agencies.
