Orbital appoints Kronmillar as GR vice president

The Orbital Sciences Corporation, one of the world’s leading space technology companies, has announced the appointment of Kate Kronmiller as senior vice president of government relations.

Kronmiller comes to Orbital from United Space Alliance (USA), where she was vice president of Washington operations for the past 14 years.

She brings a deep body of knowledge, boundless energy and exceptional leadership skills to our team.”

In her position with Orbital, Kronmiller will be responsible for developing and implementing the company’s engagement strategy with Congress and the Executive Branch of the Federal government, as well as managing the company’s interaction with state and local officials.

She will work with Orbital’s internal Operating Groups to identify opportunities for the company to apply its innovative and affordable space technology in ways that benefit government customers while furthering Orbital’s strategic goals.

Since 1997, Kronmiller held a comparable position at USA, a joint venture formed by Boeing and Lockheed Martin primarily responsible for carrying out all aspects of Space Shuttle and Space Station operations.

Kronmiller is involved in numerous industry-related groups, including the National Space Club and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and is one of the original co-founders of Women in Aerospace.
