Kreab Gavin Anderson has announced the appointment of industry veteran Jin Lu as managing partner of its Beijing operation.
With 25 years of experience working with leading multinational and Chinese companies, Lu has previously led public affairs and corporate communications at PepsiCo and McKinsey.
He also served as vice president of Beijing-based public relations company Fortune China, starting at Ketchum Newscan in Hong Kong. Lu began his career with Xinhua News Agency working in Beijing and Hong Kong.
“Lu brings direct experience from major Chinese and Western companies,” Walter Jennings, Kreab Gavin Anderson managing partner for Hong Kong and China, commented. “He understands the perspectives of Chinese enterprises that wish to expand internationally and of multinationals that seek to strengthen their positions within China. He can assist clients in addressing the unique communications challenges they face in Beijing and beyond.”
Commenting on his new role, Lu said: “Global companies need savvy advice to navigate the complex business and political systems in Beijing. Kreab Gavin Anderson is a pre-eminent advisor in corporate, financial and public affairs. I am excited to be working at such a dynamic consultancy and happy that I will be able to put my skills to the service of the firm’s clients in China.”
Lu replaces Tom Grimmer, who left Kreab Gavin Anderson in late 2012 to take up a senior regional communications role with HSBC in Hong Kong.
