Kreab Gavin Anderson has announced the appointment of Jonathan Kushner as partner in ita Tokyo office.
Kushner’s experience with leading financial services and technology companies spans Japan, the United States and Asia.
Most recently, he headed communications and corporate affairs at the Japan and Korea operations of AIG’s general insurer Chartis, where he focused on crisis communications, financial communications, rebranding and employee communications.
Kushner has had extensive experience across Asia in public affairs, government relations, public-private partnerships, and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Before working at AIG, he headed up Microsoft Asia Pacific’s business with multiple governments, where he was responsible for policy, business development and strategic project engagement in public-private partnerships.
Prior to the regional posting, Kushner was government affairs manager for Microsoft in Japan.
Kushner is an active member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ACCJ), where he is currently Chairman of the ACCJ’s Tohoku Revitalisation Taskforce and vice chairman of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) Taskforce.
A US citizen with more than 15 years experience in Asia, Kushner holds a Master’s degree from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. He speaks fluent Japanese.
