- -

Hill+Knowlton Strategies has announced that  KW Lam, previously deputy managing director has been promoted to managing director of the firm’s Hong Kong operation.

Meanwhile Kristy Chan, previously group director, is promoted to deputy managing director.

The announcement is being made as former managing director, Rachel Chan, departs the firm for an in-house opportunity.

KW Lam will report to John Morgan, president and CEO, Asia, Hill+Knowlton Strategies.

Morgan said: “Lam Kin Wai is one of Hong Kong’s most respected communications professionals and takes on the MD role with more than 20 years’ experience in corporate marketing and financial communications.  He has played a key role for over six years guiding our Hong Kong office to earn one of the HKSAR’s strongest track records in financial communications, M&As, privatisations, IPOs, shareholder communications and managing financial crises.

“Kristy’s accession to deputy managing director provides a perfect complement to KW’s leadership in the financial arena. Over nine years with the firm, Kristy has led our Hong Kong-based corporate affairs and consumer marketing practice, designing and leading campaigns for a diverse range of multinational clients, from food & beverage, banking to luxury, property and others. I’m confident the new leadership team will enable Hill+Knowlton Strategies to continue to diversify and grow its capabilities in one of the region’s most strategically important centres.”

Lam joined H+K Strategies’ Hong Kong as Director in 2008, and was promoted to deputy managing director in 2013. During his tenure with the firm, he has served as a key advisor for a diverse client portfolio, most notably the more than 50 publicly-listed companies to which the Hong Kong office provides strategic financial media relations and investor relations counsel and support. Lam previously served in  key communications leadership roles for Alcatel and Titan Petrochemicals. He began his career as a journalist with the Hong Kong Economic Times.

Kristy Chan is a nine-year veteran of H+K. She has extensive experience in providing strategic counsel to clients in the areas of brand-building, marketing and corporate communications. Prior to joining Hill+Knowlton Strategies, she developed considerable experience in financial communications in both in-house and agency positions.

Lam said: “I’m excited to take on leadership responsibilities in one of the industry’s most highly-regarded public relations firms, and also a familiar network in which I will be supported by a team of talented consultants.”
