Established as a specialist brand within FleishmanHillard Hong Kong in 2012, BlueCurrent has emerged as an influential agency in its own right with a consistent record of year-on-year growth, a client roster that continues to grow, a suite of creative and communications services, and a thriving team with the confidence to take on high-profile campaigns and deliver on them.

Since 2013, when an internal merger of another Omnicom agency team gave BlueCurrent the scale and resource to generate momentum and traction, the agency has seen average revenue growth of 25.8 percent a year and maintained a margin that is the envy of any agency business, likely to touch 29 per cent this year. The winning of new client relationships and recurring project awards, demonstrating high levels of client satisfaction, have driven this growth.

Some 15 new client relationships in 2016 included brand names as prominent as Bose, Pfizer and the British Council. Clients that have returned for recurring project work include Brand Hong Kong, the information services department of the HK Government.

Originally set up to focus on digital and social, BlueCurrent remains strong in the social media community and content development. But, as the communications industry has blurred agency lines across disciplines with clients demanding integrated solutions, BlueCurrent has expanded its suite of services, developing specialist expertise to deliver effective communications across multiple channels to reach different audiences.

The agency’s growing capabilities across many aspects of brand consulting have contributed to one of its most high-profile successes, the “Our Hong Kong” campaign for Brand Hong Kong, which leveraged the agency’s creative talent, its solid client service management abilities and its fast-emerging video development and production capabilities.

BlueCurrent has also significantly built strength in digital execution, not merely in the technical build process itself, but in bringing value to clients through content creation for digital communications. Among its achievements is a new website for the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Hong Kong.
