GM China Appoints Albert Xie As Vice President of Public Policy And Government Relations
Back in February, General Motors announced that it appointed Albert Xie as the Vice President of Public Policy and Government Relations.
Based in GM China’s office in Beijing, Xie will lead an experienced team responsible for building and maintaining a strong relationship with key government agencies and interpreting China’s political environment to support management decisions.
Albert Xie – GM ChinaXie reports directly to GM China President Matt Tsien and functionally to GM Vice President of Global Government Relations Lee Godown, who is based in Washington, D.C.
“We are pleased to have such an experienced professional joining our team,” said Tsien. “Albert’s extensive background in government relations as well as in sales will help promote GM’s corporate image across China. It will also foster strong relationships with GM’s partners to enhance our government relations strategies.”
Xie, whose appointment is effective February 7th, 2014, joins GM after a 17-year carer with General Electric in China. Most recently, he served as General Manager of China Government Affairs at GE Aviation. He has also held several sales leadership roles at GE, and has a Bachelor of Science degree from the Beijing Aeronautical Institute and a master’s degree in business administration from the China Program of City University in Seattle, Washington.
