Darby Doll joins Edelman Hong Kong

Edelman has appointed Darby C Doll as senior director with responsibility for expanding the firm’s Corporate practice in Hong Kong.

Andrew Kirk, managing director of Edelman Hong Kong and Taiwan, said: “Darby’s deep experience in developing strategic communication programmes for multinationals across key markets in Greater China will help Edelman provide a higher level of counsel and service to clients.”

Edelman Hong Kong has developed a robust corporate offering in Hong Kong with specialisation in stakeholder engagement, corporate positioning, communication training and crisis and issue management, in addition to the firm’s dedicated CSR and sustainability practice, Business + Social Purpose.

With 15 years of experience in public relations, marketing and journalism across Greater China and the US, Darby is a highly-regarded leader in corporate branding and communications for multinational companies. He has extensive experience with corporate and industrial clients in China, including Applied Materials, Dow Chemical Company, Eaton, eBay, FedEx, Galaxy Entertainment Group, Jaguar Land Rover, Kerry Properties, Lufthansa and McDonald’s.

In addition, he brings expertise in crisis communications, media training and communicating sustainable development and environmental issues.

Doll previously served as managing director, China, at GolinHarris, where he led the agency’s operations in Beijing, Shanghai and across China.

Prior to that he was general manager, Shanghai, at Ketchum, where he contributed to the growth of the firm’s corporate and digital practices. Prior to Ketchum, he held agency positions in the US and Taiwan where he lived and worked for 11 years. He began his career as a journalist in Taiwan.
