Both Setiawan and Heikal are based in Jakarta and report to Allison Lim, Managing Director, Southeast Asia, Burson-Marsteller Asia-Pacific.

Setiawan brings to Burson-Marsteller more than 15 years of experience working with a wide spectrum of brands across in-house and agency roles. Leading the Brand Communications Practice, he will leverage his strong understanding of integrated communications to expand the portfolio of consumer and lifestyle brands within Indonesia and provide support across the region.

Setiawan joined Burson-Marsteller from Asiana Group where he was Marketing Communications Director, managing the group’s diversified business communications and marketing campaigns. Before that, he led brand and project management at Edelman Indonesia, Pulse Communications, Accor Hospitality and Citibank, among others. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Studies from Boston University, United States.

“Reza’s proven track record as a creative communicator, combined with his experience across multiple sectors, make him ideal for the role,” stated Lim. “I look forward seeing our Brand Communications Practice go from strength-to-strength under his leadership as he brings the best strategic and creative thinking to our clients in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.”

In his new role, Heikal will support the growth of the Public Affairs Practice in Indonesia, leveraging his wealth of experience in regulatory analysis, stakeholder mapping and reputation building. Having previously worked at Burson-Marsteller in 2013, Heikal returns to the firm from Asia Group Advisors where he led multiple accounts in the public affairs sector. Before that, he was Manager of Corporate and External Communications at PT. HM Sampoerna Tbk, responsible for formulating strategic corporate communications programs to support all business lines. Heikal started his career as a Diplomat at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, and also spent time at APCO Worldwide and Edelman. He holds a Master of Professional Communications from the University of Sydney, Australia and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of Parahyangan, Indonesia.

“Heikal is a highly experienced communications and public affairs professional and a valued addition to our team,” added Lim. “We see a great deal of potential growth in the public affairs sector in Indonesia, and are confident that Heikal’s knowledge of the domestic public affairs environment and his experience in the private sector will play a significant role in driving our business forward in the market.”
