APCO announces new health team

APCO Worldwide has launched a health advisory board, a new specialty group of the firm’s International Advisory Council (IAC), Robert Schooling, global head of the company’s healthcare practice, has announced.

The group will assist APCO’s health care team in counseling businesses, governments and nonprofit organisations on health care issues and industry trends including market access and prevention and wellness.

Schooling said: “The health advisory board creates a valuable platform to better leverage our dynamic group of IAC members with health care expertise. Their expert counsel and executive-level knowledge of the ever-changing health care marketplace is already a well-respected resource to clients around the world, and we look forward to creating stronger connections and more effectively incorporating them into APCO’s health care offering.”

The board comprises former chief medical officers, public health leaders, heads of communication of large pharmaceutical and insurance companies, and former health policy officials.

Members include: Sir Liam Donaldson, former chief medical officer for England and chief medical adviser to the UK government; James Fowler, social scientist, author and professor at the University of California, San Diego; Daniel Glickman, former U.S. secretary of agriculture; John Hutton, former minister in the UK Department of Health; Anita McBride, former assistant to President George W. I look forward to working with APCO’s health care team and other board members to help solve complex client challenges.”
